Active Investor Investment Policy Statement

An active investor is someone who has been investing for a while and probably has some significant investment assets.  They like to continually make changes to their portfolio – either the specific investments such as individual stocks or maybe the asset allocation.

Purpose of portfolio

I want this portfolio to be available for retirement income.

Investment time horizon

24 years

Asset allocation

I plan to actively monitor the economy and markets and will change the asset allocation as I see fit.

Rebalancing

Not applicable.

Return expectation

I will be buying index funds and stocks on the S&P500 and will expect to beat the S&P500 by at least 1% per year.

Investments

I will only buy a low cost index fund based on the S&P 500 and large cap stocks on the S&P 500.

Benchmark

I will compare the performance of my portfolio to the S&P500 stock index.
